Overview

When a participant has created a bantu account on www.bantu.life AND also signed up for your projects, he/she will take over their personal information. In this case, we say that a participant "HAS TAKEN CONTROL OVER THEIR DATA".

When this happens, you as the main organiser or sub-organiser will not be able to edit the personal information (i.e. the default fields) of that person anymore. However, you will still be able to edit the custom fields under each participant's profile (i.e. fields which you have created).

The reason we do this is to ensure that a participant always has control over his/her personal information as well as which organisation he/she wants to share that information with. This is in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore & Malaysia. 

Such a setup also ensures that participants always provide their most updated personal information to your organisation.

Should a participant choose to delete his/her bantu account, don't worry: you will still have a copy of that person's information in your database AS LONG AS he/she has not removed consent to share his/her information with your organisation before deleting the account.
