Before you begin:
- This feature is particularly useful for Organisers who want to send WhatsApp messages to their contacts in their Account or Project
Setting up WhatsApp on your Computer
- You will need to be logged into WhatsApp Web (https://web.whatsapp.com/) on your computer, or have the WhatsApp Desktop App installed.
- See this guide if you need help logging into WhatsApp Web or Desktop
Instructions:
In 'Manage Project' or 'Manage My Account':
1. Make sure the 'Mobile Phone' column is displayed
- If this is not displayed, click on 'Customise' to enable the field to be shown in your table view
2. You will see a 'WhatsApp' button in green in each contact's Mobile Phone column
3. Click on the 'WhatsApp' button for the contact you would like to send a message to
Note: You can only send WhatsApp messages to valid Mobile Numbers using WhatsApp
You should see this screen:
- Clicking on 'Continue to Chat' will open your WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop app
4. You're done – Begin your conversation with your contact
Troubleshooting:
1. Invalid Format:
If you were unable to send a message to any of your contacts, please make sure that the phone number has a valid format. Please ensure that:
- There is a valid International Country Calling code added to the Mobile Number e.g. +65 9322 9223
For example, if you have a community member located in Thailand, you would format their phone number to be: +66655524551. See this article for a list of country calling codes.

2. Contact does not use WhatsApp
If you see the following error in WhatsApp, the contact you are reaching out to does not use WhatsApp. Consider sending an SMS instead.
